Camping...literally

So 614 went camping this weekend - it was sooo much fun and sooo little sleep haha! We took tents out to the other side of Goderich and had some interesting late night pitching on Friday. Then Saturday we checked out the beach and local eateries (we overwhelmed the local pizza hut with stuffed crusts!).
On Sunday we said a very sad goodbye to the camp, it was a little strange to know it is over, we'll never stay at Glenhuron again. It is somewhere we have tonnes of memories and stories and photos all about so we won't forget it or it's role in our life. My one prayer is that the money raised by selling the camp is enough to make a significant difference in the Army's debt. "Camping" (at the provincial site in huts and buildings (not tents, lol)) will continue for the Army in this division though so that is really good to hear. Both Saturday and Sunday nights we played some fun games by the fire and ate toasted marshmallows and "S'mores" the kids loved it and I think us adults got swept away with it all too.
Gabe was very well behaved all weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the numerous people vying for his attention. It was good for us to hang out with the older kids for a change too.
We snapped a few pics so please enjoy:
Breakfast - Care of Geoff & Aurora

It's a bit chilly!

"Show me the food!"

More food!

Somebody likes the beach

Teamwork - digging a hole is hard work for five kids and a baby

Gabe loved having the sand all over...unlike his mother!

"Bounce Gabe bounce!"

"Dad you're making the ground sink, escape while you still can!"

That piece of wood was hit several dozen times and only a small
chunk actually came off it - we burnt it whole in the end!

Okay so Gabe looks awake but Aurora and I need a couple more hours!

I can't wait until next time, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, just hanging with my community out in the country.
